Febuary downtime.

Our main server hosting our database, website & US servers was hit with a major power outage on the 2nd of this month.

More details can be found here; https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/7 ... in-atlanta

As a result - I will be doing some changes/updates in the next few days to make our database more redundant so if our main server goes offline again - our other servers won't be affected.

I apologise for the downtime.

I'v successfully setup master-master mysql replication. What this means is that we have two identical databases on separate servers that are updating each other keeping them both up to date. If one database goes down - the other will be ready to go.

I was wondering what was up. I thought that maybe some disgruntled script kiddie might have been up to no good!

Due to unforeseen problems with mysql-mysql replication, I have scrapped that idea and setup automatic daily backups to an external source for the database.

In-case of a long outage such as before, we will have near up-to-date backups on hand.
