Warning: Downtime expected.

Postby BadBoy » Fri Feb 26, 2016 10:21 am

Hey all,

We are planning to make a deal with our US server host that will increase RAM, IO speed and bandwidth.

This will result in some downtime in the next couple days and it's unclear how long the downtime may be. However I wouldn't expect it to be down for more than a day.

Just thought i'd give you the heads up before it happens.

I'v temporarily moved our database to the EU server so that when US goes offline - other servers won't be affected.

As a result - browsing the website may feel slower depending on where you live.

So when the upgrade takes place, only the website & US servers will go offline.

Also for those wondering, we've upgraded these specifications;
8GB ram to 24GB.
500GB Hard Drive to 128GB Solid State Drive.
5 Terabytes bandwidth to 10 terabytes.

Datacenter even upgraded to a 256gb ssd instead of the advertised 128gb. Not complaining though.
