Every once in a while i hear a drumroll, and there's a message that "You've been promoted to Rank XXX". But my rank is going up! Isn't #1 best? Does this mean I am getting worse? If not, what kind of "rank" is this?

I play for fun, and don't care if others are better than me, but I do like to improve. I play rifle almost exclusively, so I don't have high kill totals. (I also play on a macbook on wifi. Am I doomed to having my rank get worse and worse?

For what it's worth, my rank now is 115

Rank in this game is just a score counter. You rank up as you get more points.
